Causes:

  • Hormonal changes and lack of appetite which can result in lack of nutrients
  • Side effects from certain menopausal medications
  • Body, mental and emotional sensitivity towards changes in the body leading to high stress levels

Signs & Symptoms:

  • Hair starts thinning, starting from the crown of the head
  • Dry and weak hair with split ends

Possible Complications:

  • The problem will worsen if the sufferer has hereditary (genetic) hair loss problem before menopause
  • If treatment is delayed or wrong medication is taken over a long period of time, the problem will worsen
